About Us
What We Do
High Forest Humane Society is located in Hohenwald, TN and helps to serve the animals and community of Lewis County and surrounding counties. We typically care for anywhere from 5-25+ dogs at a time between our shelter and our fosters. In 2022 alone, we helped to care for and re-home 240 dogs.

High Forest Humane Society focuses on bringing a positive change to animal welfare in a variety of ways. Our work is inspired by the support and commitment of our community members who share in the belief that people and nature thrive through coexistence. We take in surrenders and strays, hold adoption events, promote awareness within the community about spaying/neutering animals.
Adopt
The ultimate goal for all of our furry friends
We hold weekly adoption events most Saturdays at PetSmart in Spring Hill, TN, as well as occasional events at Tractor Supply in Hohenwald. If you're looking for a new companion, come see us! For the most up to date information on adoption events, check out our social media pages!
Foster
Foster Homes are the bridge to a new home
Foster homes give animals a chance to get out of the shelter and into a loving home while they wait on their fur-ever family. Fostering gives animals a chance to adjust to life outside the shelter, as it can sometimes be a lot for them. We love and appreciate all those who foster for us. If you'd like to foster an animal, please reach out!
